Academy of Little Learner's Educational Goals

Our educational goals are in complete agreement with the Pennsylvania Standards for Early Childhood Education. Each age group builds on the skills of the group before them. We build a solid foundation of academic skills along with self-confidence in each child.

Toddler graduates will meet or exceed the standards for entry into pre-school. Pre-School graduates will meet or exceed the standards for entry into pre-kindergarten. Pre-Kindergarten graduates will meet or exceed the standards for entry into kindergarten.

Infants:

3-Year Olds:

..Making positive choices, understanding of consequences
Educational:
..Mastery of capital letters, Mastery of numbers 1-31, Rote count to 50
..Proficiency with scissors, Ability to trace, Mastery of colors
..Mastery of all shapes, Be able to see simple patterns, Make groups
..Classify the same objects
..Development of a longer attention span for sitting and listening quietly
..Shows proficiency in raising hands to ask or answer questions
..Follows 2-part directions.

4-Year Olds (Pre-K):

Social Skills:

Educational:
..Mastery of the alphabet
..Recognize upper and lower case letters out of sequence
..Able to write the alphabet, the numbers 1-50, and rote count to 100
..Understand the concept of opposites, size comparisons
..Knows body parts and the five senses, Can zip, button, snap, lace shoes
..Can ask pertinent questions, mastery of shapes and colors
..Sequencing lines and curves by following dot-to-dot
..Can write their first and last name, know their phone number
..Knows their street name, Recognizes street signs
..Has developed cutting skills
..Has mastered raising their hand to answer questions
..Has mastered raising their hand get the attention of their teacher
..Holds a pencil correctly, Follows directions
..Has a greater developed attention span.

School Age Program:

The Academy provides before and after school care for Kindergarten through 5th grade. Time is provided for homework and play as well as an afternoon snack.

Summer Programs:

Our summers at the Academy are filled with fun and laughter. Full time care is provided for all students. A special school-age program is provided for Kindergarten through 5th grade students.

The summer school age program includes going swimming at the local Lower Macungie Township Pool and various field trips.
